We are thrilled to be moving forward as we restore this dilapidated former industrial office building to its full potential. The building is prominently situated on the east branch of the harbor and hails from the early 20th century. It has great bones and generous ceiling heights, but parking was limited and the site needed remedial work. The total makeover, inside and out, adds 40,000 square feet, a new core and shell, new building systems and a magnificent rooftop garden. In addition, the property will feature a new four-story parking garage.
Thanks to the great collaborative team made up of CPG Architects, Beacon Projects Group, A. Pappajohn Company, Stantec, Eric Rains Landscape Architecture, LLC, DeStefano & Chamberlain, Inc., Redniss & Mead, Inc., Goldstick Lighting Design, Ltd., 4 Elements Group and a fantastic client Wheelhouse Group, LLC, our collective vision is becoming a reality.
The full site development—dubbed “Stamford Media Village”—will revive the bland hardscape and solve the lack of parking problem in the area. Site work will also include cleanup and the creation of a new public boardwalk/esplanade to take advantage of the waterfront location.
This was a complicated project with lots of variables to juggle and hurdles to overcome, but that’s right up our alley. We are excited to be part of this endeavor which will bring a level of architectural enhancement to a rapidly improving and vital part of town. We can’t wait to see it complete!
