NAIOP New Jersey is on a roll.

The real estate development association has added nearly 130 new members in the past year, including the addition of a new Monmouth University membership category. So its rolls have reached an all-time high of 617, even after losses due to recent mergers and transfers.

New Jersey, the founding chapter of NAIOP, is ranked eighth largest out of 56 chapters.

“As the economy and commercial real estate industry continue to rebound, industry professionals clearly understand the benefits of membership and the need to work together,” Chief Executive Officer Michael McGuinness said in a statement. “These benefits include everything from networking, to keeping abreast of current trends and events, to advocacy on important public policy issues, to education.

He added that the mandatory Continuing Education Units (CEUs) now required by New Jersey for licensed real estate salespeople and brokers, and awarded to attendees of approved NAIOP New Jersey events, has been a catalyst for industry professionals to join and attend its events.

The New Jersey chapter’s continued growth in 2012 and into 2013 includes new members represent financing, law, engineering and environmental services, construction, architecture and design, labor, the media and academia, according to Mountain Development Corp. President Michael Seeve, who is the chapter’s current president.
