Mountain Development Corp., a development firm that owns the Garret Mountain office complex in Woodland Park, is serving as a platinum sponsor for the first “4 Miler at Garret Mountain” to benefit St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital pediatric hematology/oncology department. The Sax Macy Fromm Foundation is presenting the fundraising run on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park.

“Mountain Development Corp. always has been committed to corporate social responsibility,” said Michael Seeve, company president. “We are excited to collaborate with our friends at Sax Macy Fromm and to support this effort to raise funds for the pediatric hematology/oncology department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.”

The day’s activities will feature a four-mile run on a U.S.A. Track and Field Certified racecourse, as well as a 1.5-mile trail walk. Kids’ dashes, with distances ranging from 25 to 200 yards, will be held for children ages 2 to 11. Individuals can register for the race at www.raceforum.com/garret.

The SMF Foundation is absorbing all expenses associated with the event in order to donate 100 percent of the proceeds raised through sponsors directly to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

The Sax Macy Fromm Foundation was formed in 2006 to give back to the community. Each year, the SMF Foundation makes annual contributions to community-based nonprofit organizations that provide a measure of impact in the greater Clifton/Passaic region.
