PINE BROOK, NJ–GSH Group, Inc., an international building engineering and energy management provider, recently held energy efficiency seminars in the New York Metropolitan area.

Targeted to educate real estate owners and managers in the region, seminars were held at One Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ, which is owned by affiliates of Meritage Properties LLC and Mountain Development Corp. and is managed by Mountain Development Corp., and at Manhattan’s Times Square Renaissance Hotel. During this educational seminar, the team provided various insights on a wide range of energy solutions for commercial and retail buildings based on engineering best practices.

The seminar, which drew in about 40 attendees at both events, included keynote speaker, Dr. Bernard Palowitch, Jr., founder of CEO of Not Hot Industries, LLC. Palowitch, a certified energy manager, has 25 years of consulting and project management experience and holds a Doctor of Science degree in chemical engineering. Speakers from GSH Group included Frankie McDonald, assistant vice president and head of GSH’s energy program, and Ross Forman, GSH’s president. Additionally, representatives from state programs, including New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority provided information regarding rebates for energy efficiency projects.

A highlight of the seminar was the comprehensive guide of implementing an efficient energy management program from GSH’s own experience of carrying out energy programs for their clients. Additional topics discussed included market trends, energy management systems, financing alternatives for energy projects and Energy Star accreditation, as well as the use of online tools.

As an approved New Jersey SmartStart Buildings P4P Program partner, GSH Group is recognized as an “energy expert” by the State of New Jersey and provides Energy Reduction Plans (ERP) to building managers and owners as well as continued measurement and verification through the entire process of improving building energy efficiency. As an Energy Star Partner, GSH Group also provided attendees with details on how to rank their facility and achieve national Energy Star accreditation.
