Joseph Coci III

Managing Director, Connecticut

Joseph Coci, III, is a Managing Director of Mountain Development Corp. He is the partner in charge of Mountain’s rapidly expanding upper Fairfield County Connecticut commercial property portfolio. In this capacity, he is responsible for real estate acquisitions, acquisition finance, and leasing and marketing the Connecticut properties. Mr. Coci has been with Mountain Development Corp. since 1989.

Prior to joining Mountain Development Corp., Mr. Coci was Managing Director of Fieldcrest Realty Corp. and also served as Director of Real Estate Acquisitions for ACTA Realty Corp., both in New York City. In those positions, he was responsible for the identification and negotiation of the purchase of investment grade properties as well as debt and equity finance.

Mr. Coci was with the Prudential Realty Group as Director, Acquisitions and Sales, New York City, and as Director, Real Estate Tax Administration in Prudential’s Corporate headquarters. Mr. Coci practiced tax law with Reid & Priest in New York City from 1976 – 1982.

He is a graduate of The University of Virginia (B.A., Philosophy, 1973), The University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 1976), and New York University Graduate School of Law (LL.M.) Taxation, 1981). While at the University of Virginia, he was a member of the Virginia Law Review Editorial Board and Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Coci has also completed a substantial portion of the credits required for an MBA degree at New York University Graduate School of Business Administration.

Mr. Coci served on the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Finance Association and is also a former member of Board of the Fairfield Westchester Chapter of NAIOP. Mr. Coci is a former Board member of the Southport School in Southport CT and he serves on the Advisory Board of The Mead Endowment at the University of Virginia.
